久しぶりの来客、酷暑の京都ツアーを敢行した。阪急西院駅で待ち合わせてまずは大徳寺へ、参拝というよりも＜大徳寺納豆＞が目的だ。次いで＜銀座ライオン四条烏丸店＞でビアランチで一息、そして祇園祭最終日の＜疫神社＞へ、茅の輪くぐりをしようと思ったが長蛇の列に断念。五条坂へ移動して＜陶点睛かわさき＞で器購入、仕上げは＜笹屋伊織 別邸＞で涼を取り、互いの土産を交換して一日を終えた。いやぁ、暑かったけど楽しかった、よく飲んだ！

4時起床、日誌書く。

5時15分、シャワー、体重は300g増。

朝のルーティン。

ツレアイは次男のおにぎりを、私は彼女と3男の弁当を用意する。

珈琲、洗濯。

空き瓶缶、20L＆45L。

彼女を職場まで送る。

10時30分に阪急西院駅で妙齢女子と待ち合わせ、まずは大徳寺へ。職人さんが大汗をかきながら庭の手入れをしている。日本仏教史のガイドラインを簡単にレクチャー、目的の＜大徳寺納豆＞を目ざすが目当ての店は臨時休業、仕方なく別の店で購入する。

銀座ライオンとくればヱビスビール、プレミアム・ハーフアンドハーフ・琥珀と3種類をいただく。毎朝一番に挑むライオンアプリのガチャ、ポイントが910ポイントたまっていたので支払に利用する。

疫神社へ移動するが、茅の輪くぐりの長い列を前に断念、＜美御前社＞にお詣りして五条坂へ徒歩で移動。以前にも来たことのある＜陶点睛かわさき＞で器を物色、小鉢を二つ購入する。

タクシーで七条千本へ移動、カフェで涼を取って土産交換、彼女からは土佐の酒のセットを、私からはツレアイから託されたあれこれを渡す。

彼女を見送ってから近くのセブンイレブンへ、Appleのチャージ・キャンペーンが始まっているので、50,000円をチャージ、うちに戻ってすぐに応募する。

一息入れてから夕飯準備。

今夜は手羽中の唐揚げ、少し手間はかかるが美味しくできた。

息子たちにはスパークリングワイン、我々は頂き物の＜安芸虎＞を楽しむ。

🚨 Urgent Security Warning for Apple Users: Government Flags Critical Vulnerabilities in Devices 🚨

The Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) has issued a significant alert regarding critical security flaws in various Apple products. In an advisory released on August 2, CERT-In identified high-risk vulnerabilities affecting devices like iPhones, iPads, Macs, and others.

🍏 Apple Devices at Risk: Affected Software Versions

The vulnerabilities have been found in several versions of Apple software, including:

📱 iOS and iPadOS: Versions earlier than 17.6 and 16.7.9 💻 macOS: Versions earlier than 14.6 (Sonoma), 13.6.8 (Ventura), and 12.7.6 (Monterey) ⌚ watchOS: Versions earlier than 10.6 📺 tvOS: Versions earlier than 17.6 🕶️ visionOS: Versions earlier than 1.3 🌐 Safari: Versions earlier than 17.3 CERT-In has warned that these security gaps could allow hackers to access sensitive data, run unauthorized code, bypass security protections, trigger denial of service (DoS) attacks, and engage in spoofing. The alert categorizes these vulnerabilities as "high severity."

🔧 Critical Update Needed: Apple Users Advised to Act Now

CERT-In strongly recommends that all Apple users immediately update their software to the latest versions provided by Apple to patch these vulnerabilities and reduce the risk of cyberattacks. The advisory stresses the urgency of this action to safeguard devices from potential threats.

🕵️‍♂️ Spyware Threat: Apple Alerts Users to Sophisticated Attacks

Alongside these vulnerabilities, Apple has also warned users about potential "mercenary spyware attacks," similar to the notorious Pegasus spyware. These alerts, issued to users in over 150 countries, including India, are meant to highlight the risk of advanced spyware targeting iPhones. In this article, we're going to talk about what's new in this update, the performance, battery life, and if this will be the final iOS 17 update or not.New Features in iOS 17.6The first notable update in iOS 17.6 is related to the TV application and sports. Apple has introduced a new catch-up feature for live sports in the TV app, specifically for the MLS Season Pass. This feature allows users to catch up on the action by watching a series of AI-generated clips of highlights that have already occurred during the game. This is a great addition for sports enthusiasts who join a live game in progress.Another minor update in the TV application is the relocation of the share button. Previously, the share button was hidden under the three-dot menu, but now it is conveniently placed in the top left corner of the screen.Apple News ApplicationIn the Apple News application, users can now schedule live activities. This means you can set up a live activity for events like a game or an election, and it will appear in the Dynamic Island without waiting for the event to start. Notably, a lock screen issue was addressed where an attacker with physical access could use Siri to access sensitive user data.Performance and Battery LifePerformance-wise, users can expect iOS 17.6 to feel similar to 17.5 and 17.5.1. Running a Geekbench 6 test on my 13 Pro Max, I scored 2421 on the single-core and 6063 on the multi-core, which is consistent with previous updates. Therefore, no major changes in performance are expected.Battery life also remains stable. After using the Release Candidate (RC) for over a week, I haven’t noticed any significant differences compared to 17.5.1. This means users shouldn’t expect major changes in battery performance with this update.Should You Update?As we approach the end of the iOS 17 release cycle, many users might wonder whether to update to iOS 17.6 or wait for iOS 18. Given that we’re this late in the cycle, updating to 17.6 is generally safe and recommended. It includes important security patches and minor feature enhancements without introducing significant risks.If you're waiting for iOS 18, it’s expected to be released around mid-September, likely on the 16th. Before that, we might see a 17.6.1 or even a 17.7 update, focusing primarily on security and minor bug fixes.ConclusioniOS 17.6 is a relatively minor update but includes several notable features and important security fixes. The new catch-up feature for live sports, improvements in the Messages app, and privacy enhancements in Shortcuts are all welcome additions.
